ADVENT ARTIST

In 2017 I set myself the challenge to create a daily artwork for Advent (4 weeks leading up to Christmas). I would reinterpret the Nativity story through the eyes of contemporary artists. Although the project is incomplete I enjoyed the dialogue created between the historic bible narrative and contemporary thinkers.

From left to right the images are as follows:

- Banksy Baby Jesus

- Duchamp (Urinal) Baby

- Laura's Tracey Emin Neon

- Warhol's Madonna & Child

- Kahlo/Laura Self Portrait

- Hirst's Nativity From the Darker Side

- Niki De Saint Falle's Joy Birth Dance

- Matisse's Nativity Cut Outs

- Hockney's iPad Nativity Panoramas

TOP TRUMPS CARDS

As part of the wedding stationary these Top Trups playing cards were developed in order to act as wedding favours for the 200 guests. Each pack contained 18 cards and all of which were illustrated with caricatures of family members.

REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

During 2016 I committed to illustrating three reasons to be cheerful every week. They were part of a wider project which sought to encourage my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter followers to share their own reasons to be cheerful that week.

ADVENT WORD

During the 4 week Christian season of Lent I took part in a worldwide Anglican project called Advent Word where participants were emailed a word each day that related to the season and invited to respond visually and then to upload their image to Twitter. Below are a few examples of my iPad sketches.
